MONTESSORI CHILDREN’S HOUSE OF ERIE CELEBRATES 30 YEARS—

Montessori Children’s House of Erie (MCHE) is celebrating 30 years in Erie. MCHE was the first Montessori learning center in Erie practicing the groundbreaking work of Dr. Maria Montessori. Montessori Children’s House provides learning opportunities for children aged 18 months to 6 years in multi-aged classrooms.

Classrooms at Montessori Children’s House are set up to allow freedom within limits. Freedom for self-direction within carefully planned environments keeps children interested and eager while encouraging the development of self-discipline under the careful guidance of the teacher. Children choose their activities, follow their curiosity and work on their selected activity as long as needed to complete their piece of work and achieve mastery of a subject.

By providing a scientifically prepared environment and respecting the child’s individual learning style and pace, we encourage full development of the child’s whole being as well as the prime elements of character- independence, self discipline and respect.

Montessori Children’s House also offers before- and after-school care as well a diverse summer program. Any media inquiries about MCHE or the Montessori method are welcomed.
