Before and After School Care

Montessori Children’s House provides before and after school child care programs as a service to our families. These programs are available before instructional time beginning at 7:30 AM until classes start at 8:30. We offer a 4/5 year old extended day program with additional instructional time until 3:00, however for those toddlers and 3 year old children whose parents need them to stay, we offer an after school program until 5:30 PM. Children, who attend the extended day program and need to stay longer than 3:00 PM, are able to take advantage of this after school program also.

This program is licensed under the Department of Public Welfare, and has achieved at Pennsylvania Keystone Stars rating of a Star 3. Although the activities are more traditional than those of our Montessori classrooms, the teachers are still certified, and adhere to the PA Early Learning Standards.

Our before and after school program also provides a program in the summer for school age children along with our toddlers and preschool children. This is our summer retreat, and the program provides many activities for all age groups, including field trips, parent and child activities, and visitors from the community. We provide a lot of outdoor activities at Zuck Park which is adjacent to our property.
